Professional informations

Me Emy-Jade Viens has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2015 and has been practicing at PFD Avocats within the labor law team since 2021. She completed her law studies at the University of Ottawa (LL.L, magna cum laude) and completed a master’s degree in Health Law and Policy (LL.M) at the University of Sherbrooke with honors.

During her university studies, Me Viens stood out by her involvement in various research mandates led by university professors and by her participation in the moot competition “Les 24 heures du Droit de la Santé” held in Sofia, Bulgaria . As part of the writing of her master’s essay on consent to care for vulnerable people, Me Viens also obtained the prestigious grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research in health law, ethics and policies (CIHR Fellowship in Health Law, Ethics and Policy).

Thanks to her analytical mind, her rigor and her understanding of the issues, Me Viens advises employers on all matters related to labor relations and occupational health and safety in unionized and non-unionized environments. To this end, she acts before ordinary courts, administrative tribunals and arbitration tribunals, represents employers during conciliation and mediation sessions and participates in the negotiation of collective agreements.

Me Viens frequently writes articles for the Human Resources Bulletin published by Éditions Yvon Blais and provides training on any subject related to labor law, in particular to PFD Avocats clients.
