Mtre Julie Lavoie earned a law degree from Université de Montréal and was called to the Québec Bar in January 1998. She articled and began her practice in a Montréal firm. Mtre Lavoie joined the family law group at Prévost Fortin D’Aoust in 2004 and works out of our offices in Town of Mount-Royal, Laval, Boisbriand and Saint-Jérôme. Through the years, she has developed extensive expertise in family and estate law disputes as well as in protective supervision and the homologation of mandates in case of incapacity.
Mtre Lavoie was made a partner at the firm in January, 2014.
She expertly and effectively represents men and women in claims and defences in Superior Court, the Court of Québec and the Court of Appeal. She does, however, favour alternative conflict resolution methods whenever they are in the best interest of her clients. Practicing corporate law early on in her career proved to be a major asset for Mtre Lavoie, since family disputes often involve companies and corporations.
Mtre Lavoie has spoken at family law conferences and written articles on current law topics.
In addition Mtre Lavoie sits on the board of directors of the Association des avocats et avocates en droit familial du Québec since 2013.
