Louis Morency

Mtre Louis Morency earned his law degree from Université Laval in 1992 and was called to the Québec Bar in 1993. He also holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in science from Université Laval.

Mtre Morency joined Prévost Fortin D’Aoust in January 1994 and was made partner in 2004. He initially worked in the insurance law and civil and commercial law groups. He then chose to focus his career on business law and especially banking law – a sector that he now leads.

Mtre Morency has developed extensive expertise in securities in Québec and outside the province. He advises and represents various financial institutions on strategic aspects, from funding and implementing guarantees to ensuring turnarounds and collection and realizing guarantees.

Mtre Morency also possesses vast experience in bankruptcy and insolvency, financial institution liability and commercial litigation.
