Mtre. Maxime Arcand joined PFD in November 2016. He has focused his career on labour, civil and construction law. He is actively involved in every step in each of his cases and is therefore often called upon to appear before courts and tribunals. Maxime has argued cases before the high courts in civil matters, as well as before the Tribunal administratif du travail and labour law arbitration tribunals. He also provides counsel to organizations in the normal course of business and in contentious and non-contentious matters. He advises clients to resolve the issues with which they are faced and takes a proactive approach to prevent disputes.
Maxime was called to the Québec Bar in 2009. He studied law at Université de Sherbrooke, graduating with honours in 2008. He was part of the university's first cohort enrolled in the co-op law program and was appointed as the group's student representative.
Prior to his law studies, Maxime completed a certificate in applied politics from Université de Sherbrooke. He also worked as a surveyor's assistant on construction sites-an occupation that helped him gain the skills required to better understand the needs of his clients in the area.
Mtre. Arcand is very passionate about getting involved in the community. Since June 2017, he has sat on the board of directors of the Fondation de l'hôpital de St-Jérôme. Mtre. Arcand also helped create Espace Lafontaine, a non-profit organization that manages the chalet in Parc Lafontaine in Montréal and promotes culture. He served as the organization's president until 2015. He also spent many years as the vice-president of the board of directors of the day-care centre in his neighbourhood.
