Mtre Tourangeau was admitted to the Québec Bar in 1989 after earning a law degree from Université Laval in Québec. She joined Prévost Fortin D'Aoust in 1992. She practices in intellectual property and especially trademarks, counselling individuals and corporations in the choice, use and protection of these important assets in an effort to maximize their value.
More specifically, Mtre Tourangeau carries out trademark clearances by assessing the likelihood of confusion and making recommendations. She prepares and submits applications to register Canadian trademarks to the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and ensures follow ups until the certificates are issued. She renews and polices trademarks and is part of a reliable network of experts who ensure similar services abroad.
Mtre Tourangeau will also guide trademark owners in portfolio management and conflict resolution. She represents clients in matters of licensing, assignment, coexistence and opposition agreements, as well as proceedings pursuant to section 45 of the Trade-marks Act.
