Amélie Chouinard was called to the Québec Bar in 2007 and has practised labour law at PFD Avocats since being sworn in. She counsels employers on the challenges raised by labour relations and occupational health and safety in collective (unionized) and individual (non-unionized) relationships.
Through her pragmatic and rigorous approach, Amélie advises employers in all legal aspects pertaining to disciplinary matters, performance management, organizational restructuring and the implementation of labour relations policies. She also supports clients in drafting individual employment contracts and acts as a spokesperson in collective agreement negotiations.
With regard to occupational health and safety, she counsels and represents clients in their occupational injury and illness claims in connection with cost allocation (sharing) and prevention (inspections and offences).
Often called upon to file civil actions, claims, complaints and grievances, Amélie represents employers before judicial and administrative authorities including the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST), Tribunal administratif du travail (TAT), arbitration tribunals and civil courts.
