PFD Lawyers names two new partners!

It is with great pride that PFD Lawyers announces the nomination of two new partners : Mtre Marie-Sophie Marceau and Mtre François Laplante.

Marie-Sophie Marceau is an attorney in the civil and commercial litigation group. In her practice, she appears before courts and administrative tribunals and is involved in every stage of injunctions, shareholder disputes, commercial leases and hidden defect, civil liability and dismissal cases. 

Mtre Marceau also serves as a legal advisor in the debt collections group. She oversees numerous recovery cases, relying on standard and alternative recourses to ensure efficiently negotiated, cost-effective solutions for her clients.

Mtre Marceau earned a law degree from Université de Sherbrooke and was called to the Québec Bar in 2010. She also holds a master's degree in business administration from Université de Sherbrooke. In 2011, she became a member of the team at Prévost Fortin D'Aoust.


Called to the Québec Bar in 2000, Mtre François Laplante earned a Bachelor of Laws from Université de Sherbrooke. He began his practice at a Montréal firm, focusing his career on insurance law and civil liability. He then went on to join the litigation service of a Montréal-based company in the construction law sector.

In July 2014, Mtre Laplante became a member of the team at Prévost Fortin D'Aoust. He works in the insurance law, construction law and civil liability sectors and represents the firm's clients in cases before various Québec jurisdictions.

He has acquired specific expertise in mandatory guarantee plans for residential buildings and advises contractors, condominium associations and new homebuyers involved in such disputes.
